The Joe
About This Spot
Stepping into The Joe feels like slipping into a familiar, well-loved nook where time slows just enough to savor a moment of calm. Tucked away on Adams Street, this coffee shop radiates a quiet, unpretentious warmth that gently wraps around its visitors. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to linger—whether you’re settling in with a book or striking up a friendly conversation with the baristas who clearly know their craft and care about the experience they offer.
The atmosphere hums with a creative energy that never feels overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where the air smells faintly of roasted coffee beans mingled with the comforting scent of fresh-baked treats, where soft chatter carries between cozy corners and sunlit tables. Thoughtful touches—a clean, welcoming space, carefully curated seating areas, and even a changing table for families—make it clear this spot values community as much as quality.
Beyond the coffee itself, The Joe’s offerings weave together familiar flavors with a hint of adventurous spirit. Whether it’s a caramel latte kissed with just the right amount of sweetness or a savory grilled cheese with bacon that pairs perfectly alongside a cold brew, food and drink here feel like an extension of that homey vibe. Creative specials like the S’mores Latte or the locally inspired blackcurrant drink reveal a playful side, while comfort dishes such as avocado toast or breakfast sandwiches anchor the menu in approachable, satisfying fare.
Visitors often find themselves returning, drawn less by a flashy concept and more by the genuine care and quiet confidence embedded in every cup and plate. In a world of bustling chains and fleeting trends, The Joe offers a rare kind of stillness—a spot where the simple joy of well-made coffee and thoughtful company quietly resides.

Amazing coffee spot. Their roasts are absolutely incredible and the spot is really quaint and trendy. I spoke to Gray at the counter, who was very knowledgeable. I also met Justin who manages the roaster and he schooled me on all things coffee. Will continue to frequent this place while in town.

Exactly what I expect a coffee shop to be, Starbucks just doesn't cut it. Lots of different drinks and food options. I had the matcha and it was really good. The veggie tacos were amazing!! And I had the greatest chocolate chip muffin ever. Will definitely recommend as a cool hangout place, not too loud, had good vibes and creative energy. Also they have a changing table for babies and that's always a plus for me. Will definitely go back. Only downside was parking but there is some to the right of it by the post office. We missed them and had to go around because it's a one way so heads up.

This place was great! They had a lot of variety in their drink menu (no to smoothies, but yes to frappuccinos). Their food was equally great. I had the avocado toast and friend had their chicken tacos. We were both very happy. Also, their gender-neutral bathrooms were impeccably clean. They even had free lady-products in there. I highly recommend them! Open til 9pm!

This place... is fantastic! When driving by, it's easy to miss on the street front. But, once you go inside, it's extremely spacious! It has a homey and friendly atmosphere, perfect for those looking for a spot to read or find comfort. But, if you want to chat, the staff and patrons are wonderful! Bee and Alannah made our drinks (iced and hot Chai tea lattes, all a little different), and they were FANTASTIC! We will be coming back again!

This place was very nice and I will definitely come back! The service was quick and amazing and the people were very friendly. The coffee was really good and the sandwich was delicious. I struggle with trying new foods, so I was nervous but I really enjoyed it! Even though I was awkward and took a while to order they were nice and didn’t give me weird looks like most places do. It cost me $18 dollars for a large iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich, but it was well worth it. I definitely recommend this place!

I’m was in Fairmont, WV for the Veggie Man Crypitd festival. I was in need of a good coffee & breakfast, The Joe was recommended to me, I never ignore a recommended restaurant or cafe. I found The Joe with ease. Street parking seemed to be the only parking option. I walked in and found a table in the back of the restaurant. That’s pretty much your seating options as well. I made my way to the counter and was able to read the menu. I found some very unique items that I simply had to try. They had a butter beer latte & a breakfast taco entree, so these were my selections. The Butter Bee r latte was outstanding, I couldn’t have had a better beverage. The Breakfast Taco’s were outta this world, 3 tacos with scrambled egg, cheese & sausage…. Served with nacho chip & cheese dipping sauce!!! I could barely finish it, but is was just amazing. The staff were super friendly and pleasant. I also must say that this place is popular, come early to secure your table. I promise you that the next time I’m down in WV and near Fairmont, in definitely stopping back here for another killer breakfast & coffee. I’m telling you, do yourself a favor & give this place a try.

Such a wonderful place! The baristas/bartenders & manager are so kind & welcoming! While I only had a latte (delicious by the way), the food they offer looked absolutely delicious, & they offer craft beer too! Such a fantastic place in the neighborhood. I definitely recommend it if you find yourself nearby!
